Kia Ora!

Finally arrived back to the US and got a chance to update this thing!

We took a family trip to Steve's home country, New Zealand in November and had a great time. We had wanted to go for some time, but decided to wait until Talia was old enough to make the long trip. 13 hours on a plane isn't fun for anyone, let alone an 11-month old baby! She did absolutely wonderful on the plane, and thank goodness for Air NZ and thier wonderful baby bassinets they offer on thier long-haul flights! Talia got her own little bed and slept @ 10 hours of the 13 hr flight, so it was awesome, for her and for us!! It was also a night flight (we left @ 9:30pm), so that helped a lot with her sleeping schedule. High-fives, Air NZ! Talia in her Air NZ bassinet!

We arrived into Wellington early morning on Friday, Nov 9 and was greeted by Steve's father, Barry. It was great to see Steve's reaction at being in his "home" after being away for so long, and I know it was something he really needed. Wellington is a beautiful city, and although not as big as Auckland, still offered some fun things for us to do. We spent the majority of our time with the family, though. Steve's brothers and sister hosted dinners, BBQ's and outing for us, and Talia got to meet her NZ family. Steve and his family The food in NZ is like no where else, and I'm tellin' ya, I gained at least 30 pounds, I'm sure, eating all those meat pies, lamb chops, pastries, and cakes!!! Soooooo yummy! Steve, his parents Barry and Akenese, with Talia So far, the best meat pies I've eaten were at a small pie shop in the town of Kilbirnie, called Trisha's Meat Pies. OMG, they are to DIE for!!! They also make these donuts that taste like someone literally baked them an hour before I got there. So fresh and tasty! We visited the Te Papa Museum, which is an absolute must if you're in Wellington. This museum offers the best in NZ culture, history and art, and one of the best exhibits going on when we were there was the Tangata o le Moana display, showcasing the history of Polynesian culture and lifestyle in New Zealand. The Corned Beef Cow display at Te Papa Museum We also got to see the Wellington cable cars, the Maritime Museum and downtown Wellington. One of the things I really loved about NZ is how family/kid-friendly they are. Traveling with a little one, you really notice that a lot more, and everywhere we went, even in the middle of downtown, there are changing ROOMS for families, even showers! You can take a shower in the middle of downtown if you want! And, it's clean and free! Of course, they could never do something like that here, Good Lord, people would claim for thier own and live in it!

Just like we go to McD's or Taco Bell for fast food, in NZ you go to a good pie shop. Meat pies, that is. It's a NZ thing, and if you ever go there, you MUST eat meat pies. It's the law, I'm pretty sure. Honestly, those things should come with a warning label on them, cuz you could easily eat 10-12 of them before you know it, and you've got meat pie all over your face, hands and clothes. Maybe that's just me. Anyways, they're SO damn good. Mince, mince and cheese, steak and cheese, egg and cheese, the pies choices are endless. AND, those smart pie makers don't only make pies...NO, they sell pastries too. Unsuspecting meat pie eaters, like myself, are pleasantly surprised when you can not only eat all the meat pies you want, but on top of that, stuff your pie hole with delectable pastries too. Damn, you pie/pastry/tricksters!!! The pie shops in Welly don't disappoint either. Steve took me to, what I believe, might be the best pie shop in Wellington...Trisha's Pies in Kilbirnie. Trisha, high-five, sister, your pies and pastries are ridiculous.

After our time in Wellington, we hopped a quick 1-hour flight up to Auckland. We were greeted by our wonderful family friends, the Togia's. We settled in to our awesome accomodations, courtesy of my mom's aunty Niu. The Togia's partially own Karpai Cars a car dealership, or car yard as they call it in NZ, and gave us the keys to our whip while in NZ. A not-too-shabby BMW coupe, fully loaded with a navigation system and everything. It was awesome! I seriously thought about buying a nav-system when we got home, but I'm pretty handy with the L.A. roads. It comes in super handy when you're in a foreign country where they drive on the right side of the car and the left side of the road. Confused? Yep, I was too. But, it's just a matter of watching the road, concentrating and staying to the left!!! We had an amazing time in Auckland, due greatly in part to the Togia's showing us a great time. We headed down to Rotorua, a popular, but smelly, tourist destination. Because of the "geothermal wonders", it's no wonder you smell that distinct Rotorua smell. I can't explain, it's pretty rancid though. After you get over that smell, Rotorua is an absolutely beautiful town with quaint shops and great restaurants. We checked out one of the best attractions, The Tamaki Maori Village. A definate must-see to truly appreciate NZ's Maori culture, food and heritage. My only advice? Make sure you have a SANE bus-driver. Seriously, our bus-driver was 2 cents short of a dollar, folks. Despite the scary bus ride, the show, the dinner, and the whole Maori experience was awesome. The following day, we headed up to Skyline Skyrides, a gondola and luging park that's got something for everyone. You take a beautiful scenic ride up the mountain, and at the top, you can luge your way down! It was SO much fun, and I had burns on my hands from all the luging we did. There was some serious luging going on, and the boys and Steve have scars to prove it!!

After our wonderful weekend in Rotorua, it was back up to Auckland to relax. Caught up with our cousin, Celia and the Sagote family in Te Atatu, and got to do some much needed shopping! We also spent time with Steve's sister, Belinda and her husband Paul, who just had twin boys, Isaac and Noah, in September. It was a great chance for Talia to meet her cousins, and even Steve's older brother and wife drove from Wellington with thier new son, Victor, to meet up with us so all the cousins could meet! It was a special sight to see, all the Ablett grandchildren together, with Talia being the first, and the ring-leader! We also spent time with Steve's family in Manukau, his adopted mother, Vaosa, and his sister Valelia. It was great to see Steve so happy around his family, I keep reminding myself that he doesn't really have family in America, not close anyways. I'm all he's got, so I know how important this trip was for him to connect with his family. We were both so proud to show off our daughter, too!

Ryan and Talia at the car yard - Karpai Cars in Hamilton, NZ With the Togia family at the Tamaki Maori Village Lloyd going back up for another luge ride at Skyline in Rotorua Steve and I after our LUGE rides...FUN!! With the Togia family after a gig with the boys band, Drive Thru - Otahuhu, Auckland At the top of the famous One Tree Hill in Auckland Lloyd, Talia, Ryan and Danyon @ One Tree Hill

A few nights later, our wonderful friend Lei organized a BBQ for us at her house in Te Atatu. Not only did we get to see Lei, but also a few of my other aweseme NZ friends I had met and kept in contact with over the years. Thanks for an awesome evening catching up with you all. Love you guys HEAPS!

Auckland was cool because we had our own house and car and could do pretty much anything we wanted. I like that kind of holiday because I like doing my own thing. Visiting family and friends is first and foremost, of course, but it's nice to go home to your place and have the freedom to come and go when ever you please. I'm the type of person who doesn't like to inconvinience people, especially with a small baby, and make them feel obligated to show us around. I totally know what's it like when people come to visit me, and although I love to entertain, the reality is, we have jobs and lives that still need attending to regardless of who's on vacation. So, I like the fact that we were able to be independant, but still have fun and visit with our family and friends.

Thanks for a wonderful vacation, New Zealand! We'll see you soon...

Blog's Been on Vacation too Long!

Damn, blog where you at? It's been since August, what the hell?!

But seriously, there's a lot happening that I know you're dying to hear all about. But we're on vacation in New Zealand at the moment, and we'll be back next week. I've got a few pics up on my bebo account so check 'em out.

Until then, keep it rollin folks.

Blessed

Recently, my dad had surgery to remove a pituitary gland tumour in his brain. Sounds bad, eh? Well, it can be. From what we knew, this tumour had been living in my dad's brain for years, but only was detected about 3 years ago. At the time of detection, it was benign, meaning, non-progressive. But the doctors advised Dad that it should be taken out as it could become active. The worst thing about this tumour is that it affects all parts of your body: speech, hearing, sight, memory, joints, etc., And, it's a slow effect, so anyone or a combination of those things could be affected. Thanks for the vague-ness Doc! Another factor was that the State of Hawaii did not have the equipment at the time to perform the surgery, and his only option at the time was to come to Cedars-Sinai in L.A. But, my dad waited, not intentionally, but because of other factors, he finally got a date on Aug 1.

Myself, Steve and Talia went to Hawaii to be with the rest of the family for the 8 hr surgery. When the doctor performing the surgery came in, I thought, damn, he's young! He was, at only 34, this was the brain surgeon that we put my Dad's life into the hands of. But, he assured us that because of Dad's great overall health, and the technological advances that they now have, he was confident the surgery would go smooth.

So we waited. And waited. And waited in the cold hospital waiting rooms for an answer. After what seemed like forever, Dad emerged from recovery. He was groggy, of course, but well. My mom, sisters and I started crying...tears of happiness and relief, but also tears of helplessness. Seeing my Dad who is the rock, the provider, and the epitomy of strength in a father, was lying there helpless, and we couldn't do anything. I know that just being there was comforting for him, but it's a weird feeling when you see your Dad like that. It made me appreciate all the blessings we have, the family that I have, and the love we have for each other.

I love you, Dad.

There's a First Time For Everything

Mama's happy girl

It's hard to believe that 6 months has come and gone already for my little Talia, but she's a big 6 1/2 months old now. What a difference a few months makes, because she is definately her own person now. She's now eating her "solid" food, aka rice cereal, fruits and vegetables. And like the winner she is, she ate it like a champ with no problem. Although, her facial expression from her first taste of food was priceless:

Uhhh, yummy?? Mmmmm, bring it!!!

After that, it was ON. Every week since she's started, we've introduced a new food to her, and so far, she likes everything. And eats everything. High on her menu list are: bananas, pears, applesauce, green beans, sweet potatoes, and her personal favorite, carrots. I'm glad she's a good eater, it makes feeding time so much easier!

More please! I Love food!

Just when we thought food was a big first, I come home from work one day and Steve says to me, Guess what I saw today? To our surprise, Talia got her first TOOTH already! Monday, June 25, 2007, I saw that pearly white stub peeking out from the bottom row of her little gums. We both couldn't believe it, and it is the cutest thing! She got a little fussy though, and we had to take her to the doctor to get something for the pain. She started rubbing her ears and cheeks so hard (I guess to ease the pressure of the tooth), that she got a rash. We treated it and now she's fine. It's hilarious how she tries to bite everything though. You put your hand out to her, don't be surprised if she takes a bite off your finger!!

Since she got her tooth, she think she a big girl and "talks" a lot more these days. For example:

Mama: Talia, did you have a good sleep?
Talia: Mmmm-boooo-wuahhhh!
Mama: Excellent! What do you want to do today?
Talia: Baa-baa-baa-baa-BOOOO-wuuuuah!
Mama: You read my mind! Let's go!
Talia: Nnnnngggoooooo
Mama: *points to Steve* Who's that Talia?
Talia: Mama! Mama! Mama!

Ok, we have some work to do on the parent-recognition skills, but for the most part, I'm pretty sure she knows who we are. Ha!

Like Mother, Like Daughter

A few weeks ago, my dad sends me a photo CD and tells me Molly, you gotta look at these pictures, you and Talia look exactly the same! I'm like, Dad, please, there's no way that I was as cute as Talia. Well, apparently, I was wrong.

She get it from her mama Takin' it back to the old school...

How crazy it that, right? I was trippin. I mean, I know where she gets her natural beauty from, obviously *note subtle tone*, but the resemblance is pretty uncanny, dontcha think?

Sassy girl Liz looks pretty excited about that box, but I'm just chillin...

People always thier opinions on who they think Talia looks like more, but I guess we'll wait and see. A waitress we had a few weeks ago put it best when she said she definately got the best from both of you, she's beautiful! Amen, sister.

What's Going On!!

Miss Thing is getting really big! She turned 5 months old on May 15!

Pretty brown eyed girl

Been busy since I started back to work, but here's an update on what's been going on with us!

First Mother's Day

Talia in her pretty Mother's Day dress Reading through my blog lately, it's basically become my All About Talia blog, but honestly guys, of everything that's happened in my life, having her come into our lives has been the biggest blessing and brought me the most joy ever. I cannot say enough how much I love being a mother, and how truly lucky us women are to be able to bear life to these amazing little people.

So this year, I got to celebrate my first Mother's Day. How cool, eh? ItThe Ablett's on Mother's Day - May 13, 2007 was kinda weird, because I'm still trippin' over the fact that I'm a MOM, and that my parents called me to wish ME a Happy Mother's Day! For me, it feels like Mother's Day everyday with Talia. I know, sounds corny, but it's true. She does things that make me laugh, make me cry, surprise me, scare me sometimes, and things that amaze me. I guess that's why your first child is so special, because as she's discovering the world, we're discovering and enjoying every minute of her. I know, that if we should have more kids in the future, they'll be loved just as much, but it's nice to enjoy our first one for awhile.

Together on our first Mother's Day We didn't do anything too crazy, just had a nice brunch and enjoyed the beautiful weather that day. I dressed Talia up in one of her pretty dresses and she looked absolutely beautiful! Steve surprised me with some beautiful flowers, but more importantly, a card that had me speechless and crying! Now, y'all know the crying comes easy for me, but the speechless? That's a hard thing for me. So let's just say Steve amazed me with his heartfelt words of love and appreciation. Truly a day I won't forget! Talia and her daddy

Hey, I Know That Guy!!!

It's an Apolo world, and we're just livin' and voting in it!!
Ok, I'll be the first to admit I watch reality TV shows. Mostly the ones on MTV, but this year, I started watching Dancing With The Stars. Yes, you read that right, I said Dancing With the Stars. Why, you ask, was I forced to watch this show? I don't know, perhaps because of a certain olympic athlete/speedskater/friend/cool guy that I know happens to be one of the finalists going for the Glittery Disco Ball trophy of Glory come May 21! Vote for Apolo and Julianne!
I never watched the show before and had no idea what it's about. Apparently, they dance. And dance. And dance till they can't dance no more. Or until the voting public kicks 'em off. Unlike our dear friend Apolo, who's in the grand finale next week! I know I've been voting like a mofo with all the phonelines, email addy's and online votes I can, so hopefully, he'll take home the gold. Or silver, er...disco ball in this case. Apolo was cool enough to invite us to the show a few times and we had a blast! We were just trippin' out at how far we've all come since we first met him in 2002. Man, it seems like yesterday, but I can honestly say Apolo is one of those genuine people that remains himself no matter how famous or big time he gets. He deserves the world, because he truly is a class act. Thank you, Apolo, for keepin it real! Go get 'em next week, you got this! And you know this....MAN!

VOTE FOR APOLO AND JULIANNE ON MAY 21, 2007!!

Me, Apolo and April after the show Apolo's beautiful dance partner, Julianne Hough, and I after the show Joey Fatone is a cool guy, but my vote is still for Apolo...sorry Joey!!

That's all for now, people, I'll update more later.

Hey Mag, if you're reading this, HI! and thanks for the wedding DVD! You guys looked absolutely beautiful! Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know, the whole PINK thing...it's so damn hard to find NOT pink things!! I'ma have to start buying Talia boys clothes in a minute. Take care and email us! Luv u!

Time flies.....

Chillin' @ the Grove in LA watching the waterfalls

It's time to dust off the ol' blogger and get to gettin', dangit! It's already April, well, mid-April and it's unbelievable how fast time flies. Talia in her Guess? outfit Talia is officially 4 months old today (WOW) and she is getting bigger, smarter, taller and everything in between faster than I can type that! It's so amazing to watch her do something new or discover something new every day, and we look forward to getting up just to see what she's gonna do next. I know, I'm gushing, but I can't help it. She's such a joy and a blessing to have and she makes us so happy. I also officially went back to work on April 3(boooooo!) and it was really hard for me the first day back cuz I missed her so much. Steve is the best daddy ever, and we're very fortunate that one of us can stay home with her. She is definately a job in itself, and deserves all the attention we can give her.
Look Mama, I can walk!!
* Talia loves to stand on her feet. It's the cutest thing when she tries to hold herself up and her little butt wiggles around!

* Like most 4-month old babies, she has a fascination with her hands and fingers. I swear, if her hands/fingers tasted like Enfamil, she would skip eating all together and just munch on those bad boys!

It's party time!

* She likes to talk to us. Goo, ah-goo, nnn-gah and oh are big conversation starters with her.

* When she smiles, her whole face lights up. And it melts our hearts. Awwww....lol!Talia and her Grandpa!

* She's discovering the water when she takes a bath. Even though she loves taking a bath, now she hits the water with her hand and splashes it around. She might try to do laps in the sink, so we might be graduating to the bathtub. Mama and her pretty girl

* She has this rattle that she can't grip on to yet, but whenever we get it out, she swats at it furiously and beats the hell out of it. It's hilarious.

* We got her a bebePod chair and she loves it! She can sit up like a big girl and pretend she's eating with mama and daddy. Talia in her big girl chair

Manu Samoa Wins 7s in Hong Kong

Gotta update this blog, but just want to congratulate our boys in blue for winning the 7s rugby tournament in Hong Kong this past weekend!

Mikaele Pesamino's first half hat trick set Samoa well on their way - photo courtesy of irbsevens.com

Go Manu! Blue fa'amalosi!

The Fijians fought back amazingly in the second half to score 22 unanswered points but the deficit proved too big and Samoa held on for a first Hong Kong title since 1993, six years before the inception of the IRB Sevens World Series.

In triumphing here, the Samoans also claim $100,000 and 30 series points to go joint second in the series standings with New Zealand on 78 points, only six points behind defending Series champions Fiji on 84. South Africa are fourth with 74.

Mikaele Pesamino again proved a match winner for Samoa, scoring a first half hat trick as the Fijians were run ragged for 10 minutes to trail 27-0 at the break, Uale Mai and Jerry Meafou also touching down.

Where they had mis-fired in the first half, the Fijians hit back with a vengance in the second. Ryder, Cakau, Vucago and Saravanua all scored and with the clock ticking down a final chance to level the scores out wide went begging as they cut back in to the Samoan defence.

TV Is Addicting!!

Before I go on, here's my Talia picture of the day!

Mama's Little Star

Staying home with this little star gives me a a lot of free time to watch TV. I really can't remember when I've watched this much TV. With Talia's, sometimes, unpredictable schedule, I've been watching TV at all different times of the day and night. We recently got Direct TV installed at our house, and I really like it! That, and the fact that it's about half the price of what we were paying for local cable in our area. It's freeway robbery what they charge! AND, Directv gave me a free portable DVD player AND $150 credit for signing up. Oh, I'm digressing here...anyways, back to the cable watching.

I'm a HUGE fan of HGTV. I love, love, LOVE watching this channel. Seeing homes and rooms get renovated is extremely exciting to me. You get a lot of good ideas too! Some of my favorite shows are Designer's Challenge, Design On A Dime, Freestyle, House Hunters, and My First Place. And one of these days, I'ma win the HGTV Dream Home, dangit!!!

One of the channels we special ordered on Directv is Setanta Sports, so that Steve can watch rugby, which he misses terribly when he moved here from New Zealand. He tried to get into watching american football, but just isn't feelin' it. After watching a few rugby matches, I can see why. These guys are built like football players, but possibly bigger, with NO necks, HUGE thighs, and here's the kicker...NO PADS! They run around hitting and slamming into each other completely unprotected, (except for the crown jewels!) for 80 minutes. It's not for the faint of heart cuz these guys go for broke on the tackling! It's fun to watch, I'm getting used to it. Watching those hot rugby guys isn't bad either. Scrum away, boys. Oh. Heh.

And yes, I'm definately one of the 34 million plus viewers who's watching American Idol! Now, I don't watch after the audition shows, I only watch the beginning. It's because of the auditions I watch to see all the rejects! To me, that's the best part! I've heard Rosie O'Donnell's rant (well, one of the 394873897 she's going on about!) about how the judges, especially Simon, are so mean...blah blah blah. C'mon! As much as I like Rosie, I don't agree with her. There's no way in hell these people don't know what they're getting into. It's not like AI just started yesterday and they've never seen an audition show before. I'm almost positive all the contestants have to sign a waiver/disclosure to go on the show, knowing full well that there'll be criticism from the judges. And yeah, Simon can be mean sometimes, but I don't hate on the guy. He's got the guts to tell people what everyone else is thinking cuz some of those people are completely delusional! The only way they'll "get it" is if it's told to them straight! I sometimes wonder if they have friends and family that love them. Maybe not, because a lot of those people who go on there have friends and family who obviously LIE to them and let them think they can sing. Shocking!

I love the The Office on NBC. To me, it's one of the best shows on TV. Steve Carell is so damn funny it's almost ridiculous. On the show, he drives a convertible Chrysler Sebring and got his hair beaded with TWO beads while on a trip to Jamaica. It doesn't get much funnier than that.

Deal Or No Deal - This show is like my crack. I have watch this show! It's crazy cuz when you're at home, it's easy to play along and say you would do this, or do that, take the deal, whatever. But I love watching the cocky people who crack jokes about the banker, call him names, then call out thier case number with all confidence and...D'OH...$1 million in the case. GONG! LMAO! I love when they clap hysterically and say that's ok, Howie, that's ok! No, it ain't! I'd be straight cursing on TV, like, muthafu#!%@, why did I pick that damn case, sh!t! You came on the show to win a million, and now it's gone! I'd be pissed. Then they try to win the $750K, then the $500K, then when those are all gone, they're left with 4 cases to open, and the bank offer is $18. And WHY do people bring thier friends and family on for support? Of all the shows I've watched, maybe 2 or 3 people actually listen to them! You got husbands telling thier wives take the deal! we can get out off welfare, our kids can eat meat again, our lives will 100% better! and the wife looks at him, like, just one more, honey, just one more! Then she looks into the audience where her 7 year old son is shouting NO DEAL!, like kids even know what's going on AND like you have a say whether mommy accepts $346K or not! Sure enough, she goes home with $147 clapping like a fool goin' the experience is priceless, Howie! Experience, my ass, you turned down $346,000! Meanwhile, the husband is looking at her like, Great. Ah, gotta love it.

I'm hooked on pretty much anything MTV does, cuz they've mastered the art of reality television. I normally watch The Hills, My Super Sweet 16 ((you know you watch it too!), and True Life. But the latest one I'm loving is Dancelife. I really admire those people who can dance really well, and take it seriously. I especially love seeing the Talauega brothers, Rich and Tone represent and do thier thing on that show. Not only can they dance, they're representin' samoans to the fullest! I'm rooting for Nolan, I think he's really good. And Kenny too, he's smooth! Blake is good, but kinda has a stink atittude. And I love all the girls....so far!

Also a big fan of The Tyra Banks Show, I love my girl, Tyra! Oprah. Gotta love Oprah. Every show she does is good, and she really knows how to relate to her audience with the topics she chooses.

*looks at post*

Wow, I've been watching waaaaaayyyy too much TV.

I need to get a life.

*turns off the TV*

1 Month Down, A Lifetime to Go

Uh...mom, is this supposed to be fun?

So, Talia is officially 1 month, 3 days old. Time just flies, doesn't it? And can I tell y'all how much I love being a mama? Why didn't anyone tell me about this motherhood thing earlier, JEEZ?! LOL! j/k...I know some of you moms out there reading this are going wait till they get older or whatever, but I just can't imagine my life with this perfect little person. I wish I could win the lottery so I could stay home with her all day and not have to work anymore, dangit! She's such a good baby, and I can honestly say, does NOT give her mama and daddy a hard time at all! I think she gets the quietness from her dad, cuz Lord knows it ain't from me!! LOL! Talia is the kind of gal who hangs out in her crib (literally) and sometimes waits for us to check on her cuz she hardly ever cries! And when we do check on her, there she is just looking up at us with that look like, took you fools long enough!!

So, before Talia was born, I was watching Oprah one day and the topic was The Secret Language of Babies. I was amazed that this woman, Priscilla Dunstan, figured out this language that all babies talk. She could tell what babies are saying when they cry or make certain noises. It's especially for babies 0-3 months old. And lemme tell y'all, it's amazing. It's crazy how it actually works, cuz Steve and I just have to listen for those specific sounds Talia makes and we know exactly what she wants. It's making us look like some pretty damn good parents, but I can't take the credit! I gotta thank that woman, cuz it really works! Check it out here: Dunstan Baby Language Going out on the town with Moms and Pops

Another thing I've discovered is that babies, especially Talia, already have a personality and an atittude! Can you say SASSY??? Cuz that what she is. It's gonna be hard for me to discipline this girl, cuz she gives me one of her "looks" and I'm gone!

Here are some other things I've experienced in the past month:

* Babies are like clockwork. Every 3 hours she's up, almost to the second. I've learned to do everything (sleep, eat, shower, run errands, whatever) in 3 hour blocks.

* Babies don't like to be fussed with. Trying to dress a 1 month old baby in cute outfits for your own amusement and enjoyment? Don't do it. She don't like it.

Talia enjoying a day at the Spa..aka The Kitchen Sink
* Burping a baby is the funniest thing. I know it's NOT funny or polite as an adult, but hearing a baby BELCH like she just won a beer drinking contest...good Lord, it gets me every time!

* Note to baby clothes makers/retailers: do you have to make everything cute for a girl PINK? For the love of colors other than PINK! Help a sister out, please!

* Formula is NOT cheap. Even though I'm doing a combination of breastfeeding and formula, I might have to start slangin' to pay for that stuff. I don't even wanna think about how that's gonna rise when I go back to work. Yikes.

* I must take about 786 pictures a day now. Just when you think you have a cute shot, she does something cuter and you're snapping away like a japanese tourist.

* Grandparents are crazy people when it comes to thier grandkids. Especially when it's thier FIRST grandkid. If they could plaster the side of their car with her picture and a caption saying I Love My Grandma and Grandpa they would. Needless to say, I've already made them t-shirts with that saying. (And yes, I'm totally serious).

* Babies make the cutest noises, faces, and movements EVER! It's ridiculous and I think God made them that way so grown adults can act like bumbling idiots trying to talk them in really high pitched voices, hoping to get a response from her.

* I've been pee'd, pooped, and everything in between on almost daily. Funny how it doesn't bother you after, like, the 2nd time.

* Talia loves taking a bath, and especially getting her hair washed. It's so damn cute, cuz she acts like she's at the Spa getting her hair DID. Little sassy girl!

* Watching your husband taking care of your child is probably one of the most attractive things. Just...FYI. Talia loves her daddy

Ok, I'm sure they'll be a zillion other things that are gonna trip me out and amaze me, but I'll stop for now.
